A downtown original where FSG preserves the gaming license that underpins the property’s value.

The Western opened in 1970 as the Western Hotel & Bingo Parlor, owned by Jackie Gaughan and Mel Exber. At its opening, it was the world’s largest bingo parlor, with 1,020 seats, $1 slots, $1 beers and plenty of penny slots for the budget-minded player.

Today, Fifth Street Gaming preserves the Western’s gaming license, a complex regulatory process that is critical to the value of the property and its future.
